Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in the Houston area. In this role, you will provide patient-centered occupational therapy services to individuals recovering from injury, surgery, or illness, as well as those managing chronic conditions, with the goal of restoring function, promoting independence, and enhancing overall quality of life. Working in a supportive and collaborative environment, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient’s unique goals, daily routines, and performance demands. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, communicating progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. As an Occupational Therapist with Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers, you will utilize a range of therapeutic techniques, including therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, functional task training, ADL and IADL retraining, ergonomic and activity modification strategies, and the use of adaptive equipment or splinting when appropriate. You will educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, energy conservation, joint protection, and safe movement strategies to support carryover beyond the clinic. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record will be an essential part of your responsibilities, ensuring clear treatment rationales, measurable goals, and objective progress tracking. You will manage a varied caseload that may include orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients, as well as individuals seeking performance enhancement and improved functional capacity. Drawing on current research and best practices, you will incorporate innovative treatment approaches and outcome measures to refine care over time.
