Turner Lovell is recruiting a Project Engineer to join a global leader in sustainable energy and power grid technologies in Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join the leader in their specialism. You will approve design deliverables as a technical lead; review all project documents for conformity and quality assurance; anticipate and solve unprecedented problems, crucial issues and/or unique conditions; and serve as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.
Your key responsibilities in the role will include:
Producing and reviewing Primary Plant designs for the development and delivery of HV substation projects; and engineering reporting documentation such as CT burden assessments, control building lighting and heating calculations
Substation compound and building layout drawings, incorporating the TSO/DSO Specifications and Employer's Requirements in the design documentation; collaborating with internal teams such as Secondary design, civil and operations engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure technical compliance.
Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions; attending project meetings; producing and reviewing all primary plant technical drawings, specifications, and documentation; and ensuring designs are produced in compliance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, EN etc.) and regulatory requirements such as fire and evacuation regulations.
Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases; identifying and mitigating safety and design risks and resolving technical issues proactively
Creating work plans and cost estimates; improving effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions; collaborating with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers; and providing technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services. xcfaprz
The ideal profile is someone who is:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 3 years in Primary Engineering Design design/project management experience on industrial installation projects
Professional and commercial acumen
Detailed understanding of HV and MV network requirements in industrial settings, with particular emphasis on resilience and studies requirements
Experience with energy management systems and integration of automated control systems to electrical networks
