2125571## ## Job Description:As a Principal Quality Engineering (QE) Lead, you will operate as an individual contributor outside of delivery team and play a critical role in driving quality outcomes across the entire programme. You will enable, guide, and challenge multiple squads to ensure quality engineering practices, frameworks, and tooling are consistently applied and continuously improved.You will partner with QEs, System Analysts, Tech Leads, and Engineering Leaders to shape programme-level quality strategy, ensure alignment across domains, and provide hands-on support where deeper technical or organisational challenges require escalation beyond the squad.The **Expertise** we are looking for.* 10 years + experience in Quality Engineering.* Extensive experience in Agile methodologies.* Confidence to champion quality engineering.* Expertise in front end automation is key.* Experience in test automation using an established frameworks like Playwright, Selenium* Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript* Experience in API test automation.* Excellent communication skills that prioritize collaboration.* Leverage extensive experience of Agile to provide ideas that improve sprint deliveries.* Extensive experience with requirement analysis, defect tracking, coordinating with team members in different locations, and test reporting and signoff.* Proven experience in mentoring junior associates.* Strong analytical and technical skills to address sophisticated issues.* Ability to perform root cause analysis on defects.* High level of dedication, initiative, vision, and passion.* Strong technically and looking for a challenge.* Extensive experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools, job creation and maintenance* Ability to adapt to new environments and learn in-house developed tools and practices.* Experience with GitHub Copilot or other Dev Assist tools and capabilities a plus* Jira and Xray a plus.The **Purpose** of your role* Act as a programme-level technical leader and quality engineering authority, enabling consistent and scalable quality practices across all squads.* Provide an independent, trusted perspective on risk, test strategy, and engineering quality, ensuring quality is built into solutions at design stage rather than inspected at the end.* Own and evolve programme-wide automation frameworks, standards, and approaches, ensuring maintainability, reusability, and alignment across domains and squads.* Support Quality Engineers with deep technical challenges, debugging, framework usage, and adoption of best practices, strengthening overall QE capability.* Lead the design, governance, and continual improvement of the end-to-end test strategy, including environment usage, data management, and regression scope across squads.* Partner with regional and global quality leaders to ensure programme practices align with broader organisational standards and contribute to shared learning and improvement.* Drive technical initiatives, PoCs, and the introduction of new tools, techniques, and automation capabilities that uplift quality and reduce delivery risk across the programme.* Collaborate with Tech Leads, Chapter Leads, System Analysts, and Product leads to ensure quality is consistently considered in architecture, design, delivery planning, and release readiness.* Own programme-level QE tooling decisions, technical debt visibility, and long-term quality engineering roadmap, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with engineering strategy.* Act as a mentor and coach for QEs across squads, fostering a culture of excellence, cross-squad knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.How Your Work Impacts the OrganizationFidelity's Workplace Investing product areas provide recordkeeping and brokerage solutions to help employers manage their equity compensation plans.We are passionate about delivering innovative solutions that exceed our customer’s needs.
