Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality software solutions that support the organisation’s strategic objectives. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and taking ownership of complex systems. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision‑making and best‑practice standards across the business.


The successful candidate will be based at Head Office in Killarney, Co. Kerry, reporting directly to the IT Manager.


Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the following:



  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Research and integrate emerging technologies to keep the organization’s tech stack competitive.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Contribute to the overall technical strategy and architecture of the company.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, SQL.
  • Knowledge of PL/SQL, Docker, Azure, Linux.
  • GitHub Co‑pilot or equivalent.
  • Designing Webservices.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • ERP/CRM experience would also be an advantage.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
