The Ireland Roads Team is seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer with extensive post‑professional qualification experience in the design and project management of road schemes and active‑travel schemes. The role will be based in either the Dublin or Limerick office.

Responsibilities
- Managing projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi‑disciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale, complexity and value.
- Liaising with clients, developing strong trusted relationships, proactively managing their expectations and comprehensively advising them.
- Undertaking project technical lead and reviewer roles.
- Using technical ability and experience to develop staff.
- Preparing fee proposals and managing budgets for individual projects.
- Being responsible for the development and delivery of discrete and overall project solutions.
- Leading and managing other staff members in the delivery of design drawings, standard construction details, specifications and bill of quantities, and supporting the preparation of tender packages.
- Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and in‑house quality assurance standards/processes.
Qualifications
- Project management and technical delivery lead experience for road or public transport/active‑travel schemes, with experience of Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority or Local Authority procedures essential.
- Experience of contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts.
- Chartered member of a relevant engineering technical institution.
- Experience or knowledge of alignment and drainage design software packages such as Civil3D/Open Roads/MX and WinDes preferred, but not essential.
- Good communication, client management and interpersonal skills essential.
- Chartered Civil Engineer or an Incorporated Engineer with extensive post‑professional qualification experience.
- Thorough understanding and application of current design standards including Urban Street and/or Active Travel Design (Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets – DMURS, Traffic Signs Manual, Cycle Design Manual, etc.), Highway Geometric Design (Transport Infrastructure Ireland publications) and TII and NTA Project Management Guidelines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
