To better support Manulife John Hancock Retirement (MJHR), the RFP Content Manager will work closely with subject matter experts across multiple departments, compliance, and RFP writers to ensure consistency and accuracy of RFP content while adhering to risk management standards. The RFP Content Manager supports the RFP writers and is responsible for writing and editing fresh and compelling content for responses to retirement plan proposals, RFPs, and questionnaires. In addition, the role functions as the administrator for Qvidian, the proposal application.
Position Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to work with subject matter experts to develop and incorporate new content into content libraries and archive outdated information
Maintain expert understanding of industry trends, competitive intelligence, and MJHR’s products, services, and procedures
Write, edit, and proofread new content in accordance with MJHR procedures, standards, and style
Function as database administrator for the proposal library tool Qvidian
Oversee development and maintenance of all MJHR content used in preparing proposals (i.e. RFP/RFI/DDQs). Improve existing content structure as necessary.
Ensure that the content within Qvidian is well‑organized, current, and compliant.
Manage ongoing content reviews (quarterly, semi‑annually, annually), including working with subject matter experts to update content and statistics
Establish safe, effective AI practices for the RFP team, including end‑to‑end content workflows using AI within Qvidian/Seismic/SharePoint.
Apply AI to improve metadata, tagging, and template structure for faster find‑and‑fill.
Drive the use AI to generate first drafts for FAQs, executive summaries, and differentiators
From time to time, additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned, including responding to RFPs during peak volumes.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in sales support or B2B marketing communications role within financial services
Excellent written communications skills
Expert with Microsoft Office proposal software (Qvidian)
Knowledge of retirement plans (defined contribution, defined benefit, executive benefit, etc.) preferred
Superior organizational, analytical, and innovative problem‑solving skills
Extensive experience crafting convincing proposals (ideally for retirement plans)
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent writing ability and ability to create compelling communications that conform to the MJHR writing style guide
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Excellent oral and written communication skills and keen attention to detail
Curiosity and eagerness to inspire others, investigate, learn, collaborate, and innovate, while bringing a positive, flexible attitude
Demonstrated ability to work well across departments/levels—including sales teams—and to apply influence and negotiation skills
Proven ability to prioritize workload in a dynamic environment

Salary Range:
$73,350.00 USD – $122,250.00 USD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
