Position Summary The UNM Department of Fine Arts invites applicants to apply for a Temporary Part-Time Faculty (Adjunct/Unit 2) member to teach one of the following subject areas for Summer/Fall 2026. This posting is exclusively for online/asynchronous instruction and delivery of courses.
These positions will be hired on an as‑needed basis dependent on student enrollment, the course offering matrix, and graduation requirements.
Specific Courses and Content ARTS 2431 Introduction to Graphic Design
Introduction to the principles of visual communication and digital media, letterforms, typography and identity marks. Projects are produced using conventional and digital tools.
COMM 2245 Web Design
This course provides an introduction to web development techniques, theory, and design. Students will learn HTML, CSS application, and strategies for effective site navigation and design, along with industry‑standard web editing software to develop various websites.
Base salary is $1,135.26 to $1,227.89 per credit hour, depending on candidate qualifications. This posting is for both face‑to‑face and remote delivery of courses.

Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in fine arts, or a relevant degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which the course is taught, or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Successful teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution, particularly a community college.
Demonstrated experience in remote delivery of instruction.
A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
