Title: DevOps Engineer – Data Platforms PostgreSQL (on-site) Direct Hire Opportunity No Sponsorship Onsite We're looking for a DevOps Engineer focused on Data Platforms to help build and run highly scalable, automated data infrastructure. This role blends DevOps, cloud, and application engineering, with ownership over PostgreSQL environments in AWS. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks in terms of platforms—creating systems that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining strong performance, reliability, and data integrity. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where you'll have real influence on how data systems are designed and operated.
This position is on-site 5 days per week. Requirements: 5+ years of experience managing and supporting PostgreSQL databases in production environments Strong experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL or similar managed database services Solid understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization Experience executing schema updates and data changes in live environments with minimal disruption Background working in DevOps or platform-focused teams Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code concepts Strong troubleshooting skills in production environments Ability to communicate effectively across engineering and technical teams Nice to have Experience in high-growth or high-traffic environments Exposure to data security, auditing, and compliance practices Familiarity with database migration tools (Flyway, Liquibase, or similar) Working knowledge of languages such as C# or JavaScript Experience with monitoring and observability tools Interest in mentoring or guiding engineers on best practices for data usage Platform-oriented mindset with a focus on scalability and enablement Responsibilities: Support and maintain PostgreSQL and Aurora PostgreSQL environments across multiple environments Contribute to building scalable, repeatable processes for database changes and deployments Partner with engineering teams on data modeling, indexing, and schema design Implement and support CI/CD workflows for database changes, including validation and rollback strategies Monitor and improve database performance through tuning and optimization Develop dashboards, alerts, and capacity planning processes Participate in incident response and contribute to long-term system improvements Assist in diagnosing and resolving application-level data and performance issues Help design and maintain backup, recovery, and failover processes in AWS Support best practices for data security, access control, and compliance Environment: Data Platforms:
