About the Job LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of software delivery on the AI Configs team. As a Frontend Engineer on LaunchDarkly’s AI Configs team, you’ll build critical interfaces that customers interact with daily to evaluate, release, monitor, and iterate on their agents in production.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (product, design, data science, and engineering) to architect and advance our observability products.
Drive end‑to‑end feature development, from proof of concept to delivery, ensuring robust observability into system behavior and customer usage patterns.
Identify opportunities for product and UX improvements, propose innovative solutions, and lead their implementation.
Mentor teammates, guiding them through complex challenges and fostering a high‑performance environment.
Lead and contribute to code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture design to ensure alignment with best practices and scalability.
Advance engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the organization, shaping a more efficient development environment.
Stay at the forefront of frontend development trends and drive continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
3+ years of software development experience focused on frontend development.
Willingness to work 2 days per week in the Oakland, CA office for mentorship and learning purposes.
Proficiency with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, such as React.
Experience building data‑focused products such as experimentation platforms, analytics dashboards, or large‑scale data visualizations.
Direct customer experience and understanding of how their work impacts business goals.
Strong ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions.
Collaborative experience with cross‑functional partners, including product, design, and data science.
Aptitude for writing clean, well‑documented, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and extensibility.
Understanding of observability and monitoring tools and practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Proactive and self‑directed approach to work.
Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and with distributed teams.
Pay
Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area, NYC, Boston, Seattle) – $136,500 – $187,660
Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago) – $122,800 – $168,850
Zone 3 (All other U.S. locations) – $116,000 – $159,500
Benefits
Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
Geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
