Degree Requirements 5+ years of post‑degree experience in healthcare data analytics with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 2+ years with a Master’s degree.
Academic disciplines: Management Information Systems, Analytics, Statistics, Health Informatics, or a closely related field.
Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive analytics for national quality programs including HEDIS and Stars, overseeing the full lifecycle from technical specification translation, data validation, and rate calculation across both VBC and FFS populations.
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of HEDIS/Stars measures’ technical specifications and serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert in Quality Data for providers and operational leaders.
Drive strategy and performance improvement for Value‑Based Care models, developing reporting logic and incentive tracking for payment programs. Provide analytical insights that directly influence care model design and provider engagement.
Support executive‑level payer negotiations by delivering customized analytics for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial contracts. Provide data‑driven intelligence to organization leadership on program performance, risk adjustment, and contract optimization.
Lead KPI and performance metric reporting at the enterprise level, presenting to audiences ranging from clinicians to executive stakeholders.
Support the integration and use of supplemental clinical data to enhance quality measures reporting, validate performance gaps, and increase data accuracy in alignment with HEDIS specifications and health plan requirements.
Support EMR data migration analytics during the transition from iCentra to Epic, ensuring continuity of quality measure reporting, validating clinical data integrity, and guiding documentation alignment for post‑go‑live success.
Partner with data architecture teams to implement next‑generation analytics platforms, including quality measure migration to Snowflake. Conduct QA and validation across systems to ensure functionality replication and metric continuity.
Develop and maintain robust SQL‑based data pipelines across multi‑environment platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift). Supplement SQL development with R scripts for predictive modeling, data automation, and statistical analysis.
Create predictive models to support monthly benchmark tracking and monitor KPI over time, enabling proactive intervention and performance optimization.
Lead cross‑team data reconciliation projects, coordinating with third‑party vendors, payer entities, and internal data engineers to identify and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring consistency and accuracy in claims and quality reporting.
Contribute to data governance, documentation, and quality assurance practices to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Mentor junior analysts and lead peer review processes to enforce data quality standards and version control using Git‑based tools like Bitbucket.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of healthcare data analytics within a major healthcare delivery organization, including managed care settings.
Experience conducting end‑to‑end analysis of HEDIS quality measures, including rate tracking, analytical support, and intervention performance evaluation.
Knowledge of applying data analytics in support of Value‑Based Care incentive programs, including familiarity with payment structures, attribution methodology, and payer contract performance.
Knowledge of EMR systems including iCentra PowerChart.
Knowledge of supporting healthcare data analytics across multiple payer programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial health plans.
Strong SQL skills to support enterprise‑level data operations and analytics using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Amazon Redshift.
Programming skills in Python and R.
Experience with data visualization tools including Tableau.
Knowledge of clinical coding systems including ICD‑9/10, CPT, LOINC, HCPCS, and NDC.
Knowledge of quality assurance processes and collaborative analytics development using Git‑based tools.
Benefits Salary: $151,819.00 – $161,819.00 annually.
Hybrid position requiring three days per week in‑office, with telecommuting within reasonable commuting distance of Salt Lake City, UT.
Work hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
