Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and support high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients across our non-profit healthcare system in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will perform CT examinations using advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. You will review provider orders, verify patient identity, obtain informed consent when appropriate, and explain procedures in a clear and compassionate manner to reduce anxiety and ensure patient understanding. The CT Technologist prepares and positions patients safely and correctly for each exam, applies appropriate immobilization devices as needed, and adjusts technical factors to optimize image quality while adhering to ALARA principles for radiation safety. You will be responsible for operating CT scanners, selecting proper imaging protocols, performing contrast and non-contrast studies, and monitoring patients throughout procedures, including recognizing and responding to adverse reactions to contrast media. The position requires accurate patient and exam documentation, including thorough use of the RIS and PACS systems, verification of exam completeness, and adherence to departmental and regulatory standards for recordkeeping and image labeling. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other care team members to ensure timely, coordinated care, promptly communicating critical findings or unexpected patient conditions. In keeping with Presbyterian Healthcare’s culture of patient care, respect, integrity, accountability, and safety, you will maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment, follow infection prevention and quality control procedures, participate in equipment checks and basic troubleshooting, and escalate issues for service as needed. The CT Technologist is expected to maintain current knowledge of CT techniques, contrast protocols, and emerging best practices, and to participate in ongoing education, competencies, and performance improvement initiatives. You will support on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage as assigned and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments to meet patient and departmental needs.
