Pharmacist

Berkshire Independent Hospital - Reading Full Time 37.5 Hours

A fantastic opportunity has come up for a full time Pharmacist to work for Ramsay Health Care UK based at the Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading.

The post holder will be a member of the pharmacy team and will provide a clinical pharmacy service to the inpatient wards and outpatient department. The aim is to promote the safe, effective, economical use of medicines in patients being cared for by the Hospitals, in accordance with the required standards of quality and professional practice, to meet the needs of the users.

For those Band 6 Pharmacist colleagues who are looking to progress to a Band 7 equivalent role but require a little more support or do not have hospital backgrounds, at The Berkshire Independent Hospital, we would like to support you with this aspiration by offering the right applicant a Band 6 to 7 progressive post.

We are committed to developing our staff and offer support to complete the post graduate clinical diploma and independent prescribing courses where appropriate.

Main duties

  • To provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, accepted professional and ethical standards and clinical requirements.

  • To provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines.

  • To advise the hospital and its departments on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.

  • To promote a multidisciplinary, patient focused approach to the delivery of an efficient, high quality healthcare service.

What you'll bring with you
  • Dispensing experience

  • Patient counselling experience

    Experience of supervising and training staff

  • Multi-disciplinary & team working

  • Degree in Pharmacy

  • Member of GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) with current registration

  • Willingness to undertake clinical training

  • Hospital experience (desirable)
