À propos

Tier 3 | Infrastructure, Networking & Security
--------------------
*ABOUT QIT SOLUTIONS*
QIT Solutions is a mid-sized managed services provider specializing in cybersecurity, cloud services, and IT management. We support a diverse portfolio of managed clients across healthcare, legal, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, and other industries that take their technology seriously. Our team operates out of West Palm Beach, FL and Atlanta, GA, with engineers distributed across several states.
We are not a body shop and we are not a break-fix operation. We build long-term relationships with clients who depend on us to keep their environments secure, stable, and well-architected. The engineers who do well here care about the quality of their work and want to be part of a team that holds itself to a high standard.
--------------------
*THE ROLE*
We are hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as the top technical escalation point across our service delivery organization. You will be the person our Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams turn to when something is genuinely broken at a deep level. Think server clusters that will not fail over properly, firewall rules creating unexpected routing behavior, or a security incident that needs immediate containment and root-cause analysis.
This is not a ticket-queue role. Your days will be split between resolving complex escalations, managing and securing client infrastructure, mentoring the team, and working with leadership to improve how we deliver services.
The measure of success in this role is not how many fires you put out. It is how many you prevent. If our Tier 3 escalation volume goes down quarter over quarter, that is a sign you are doing the job right.
--------------------
*WHAT YOU WILL DO*
* Resolve complex escalations. Handle the incidents and outages that require real engineering skill: multi-system failures, performance degradation across client environments, security events, and infrastructure problems the rest of the team cannot crack. Document root cause thoroughly so the whole organization gets smarter.
* Manage networks, servers, and virtualization. Oversee and maintain client network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless environments. Manage Windows and Linux servers, Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms, and cloud environments in Azure and AWS. This is hands-on engineering, not dashboard monitoring.
* Own cybersecurity for our clients. Lead incident response when threats are detected. Manage and tune our security stack (SentinelOne, Huntress, Cisco Umbrella, and others). Review vulnerabilities and ensure clients stay protected. If you have worked in environments where compliance matters (HIPAA, CMMC, NIST frameworks), that experience will serve you well.
* Make the team better. Mentor Tier 2 engineers. Build knowledge base articles and runbooks for recurring issues. Give feedback that helps the service desk resolve more on their own. Your goal is to make the team less dependent on you over time, not more.
* Improve how we deliver services. Spot patterns across incidents and bring those observations to our Director of Service Delivery and CTO. Identify design flaws in client environments, gaps in our monitoring, or categories of failure we are not catching. Help us close those gaps systematically.
--------------------
*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*
* 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior technical or escalation-focused role.
* Managed services provider (MSP) or multi-client environment experience. This is a hard requirement. Supporting dozens of client tenants with varying standards, working against SLAs across multiple accounts, and using PSA/RMM tooling in a multi-tenant context is a fundamentally different skillset from managing a single internal environment.
* Strong networking skills at a senior engineering level: configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, or similar), managed switches, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and wireless networks.
* Server administration across Windows Server and Linux, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
* Virtualization experience with Hyper-V, VMware, or both, plus cloud platform knowledge in Azure or AWS.
* Real cybersecurity experience: EDR tools, SIEM platforms, incident response procedures, and vulnerability management.
* Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis and write documentation that other engineers can actually follow.
* Strong communication skills. You will need to explain complex technical situations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
--------------------
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
* Experience with ConnectWise Manage (PSA) and NinjaRMM (RMM). These are core tools in our stack and familiarity with them will shorten your ramp-up significantly.
* Experience with Fortinet, Meraki, and Palo Alto firewalls.
* Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID administration.
* Experience with Veeam and Acronis backup and disaster recovery solutions.
* Scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
* Professional certifications such as MCSE, AWS Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+/CySA+, or CCNA.
* Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, CMMC, NIST CSF, or SOC 2.
* ITIL foundations or practical experience with structured service management.
--------------------
*WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT*
We want to be upfront about what this position does not involve so we attract the right candidates.
This is not a help desk role. You will not sit in a ticket queue handling password resets and printer issues. If you are looking for a high-volume, low-complexity support position, this is not the right fit.
This is not a project-only role. While you will contribute to infrastructure projects, the core of this position is escalation engineering, security operations, and service delivery improvement. If you want to focus exclusively on greenfield builds and migrations without supporting live environments, this will not be the right match.
This is not a management position. You will mentor and guide other engineers, but you will not have direct reports or people-management responsibilities. Your influence comes through technical leadership, not org-chart authority.
This is not a single-environment job. You will support dozens of client environments with different configurations, standards, and compliance requirements. If you have only worked in a single corporate IT shop and are not comfortable context-switching across multiple tenants daily, the MSP model may not suit you.

*BENEFITS*
Fully remote for candidates outside South Florida (candidates in the West Palm Beach area will work hybrid).
Health, dental, and vision insurance.
401(k) with employer match.
Short-term disability insurance.
Life insurance.
Mileage reimbursement for any required travel.
Equipment provided.
Ongoing investment in certifications, training, and professional development.
A note on travel: This role is remote, but occasional on-site client visits may occur if you are located near a client site. Our clients are primarily in South Florida, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. This is infrequent and would be coordinated in advance.
--------------------
*ON-CALL*
This role is not part of the frontline on-call rotation. However, you will serve as an escalation point when the on-call engineer encounters an issue that exceeds their ability to resolve independently. In practice, this means you may occasionally be contacted after hours for critical incidents, but you will not be the first responder.
--------------------
*WHERE THIS ROLE GOES*
This is not a dead-end senior tech position. Based on your strengths and interests, progression typically moves toward:
Principal Engineer: Deeper architectural responsibility, service design ownership, and strategic technical decision-making across the client base.
Technical Architect: Enterprise architecture, solution design authority, and technology strategy.
Technical Leadership: Team lead, service delivery management, or other roles for engineers who want to combine technical mastery with people leadership.
We invest in career development through certifications, training, and stretch assignments. Where you go from here depends on what you bring and where you want to grow.
--------------------
*OUR MISSION AND VALUES*
Our Mission: To serve others by delivering trusted technology services with excellence and integrity, honoring God in all we do.
Our Vision: To build a trusted, enduring technology firm that develops leaders, strengthens organizations, and advances God's purpose through service and excellence.
Our Values: Responsive. Fair. Transparent. Friendly. These are not words on a wall. They shape how we bill, how we communicate, how we treat our team, and how we show up for our clients every single day.
--------------------
*HOW TO APPLY*
Apply through Indeed with your resume. Every application is reviewed by a real person on our team. If your experience lines up with what we have described here, we will reach out to set up a conversation
