Job Description We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to support AbbVie’s data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical vision and hands‑on expertise to execute platform solutions.
Manage cloud computing infrastructure, including scale, performance and cost.
Gather technical requirements, validate architecture and create/review designs.
Coordinate efforts across data engineering, data curation and platform engineering teams to successful completion.
Guide engineering resources toward code standards and templates as part of data frameworks and patterns.
Demonstrate ownership of the technical stack for individual cloud applications.
Align with AbbVie systems lifecycle standards and processes.
Manage time and deliver results across multiple workstreams at once.
Work with team members from around the globe (onsite, offshore).
Onsite position, 2 days a week WFH eligible.
Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering/Applications and at least 12 years of IT experience, or a Master’s degree and at least 8 years of IT experience.
8 years of experience with Python, Apache Spark, SQL, AWS core services (EC2, Glue, S3, Redshift, Athena), relational and non‑relational databases, data engineering pipelines using orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, Glue ETL), developing API architecture, metadata management, data quality, master data, and data lineage.
3 years of experience as Technical Project Owner and Team Lead.
Additional Information Salary Range: $117,957 – $178,500 per year.
