The IT Project Manager for the IT Infrastructure Program is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering enterprise infrastructure initiatives across Network Operations, System Operations, Service Desk, and other core IT Infrastructure domains. This role supports a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects including network upgrades, data center and cloud initiatives, end‑user services, operational tooling, reliability improvements, and infrastructure modernization efforts. This position serves as a central coordination point across multiple technical teams—partnering closely with IT Network Operations, IT Systems, Service Desk, IT Security, Architecture, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to operational and business priorities. The IT Project Manager II actively manages schedules, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and change impacts while maintaining transparency through clear, consistent communication. Success in this role is measured by the ability to proactively identify and remove delivery obstacles, balance operational demands with project execution, and drive accountability across cross‑functional teams. The IT Project Manager II ensures infrastructure initiatives are executed using standardized project management practices and are delivered with minimal disruption to business operations. Through strong leadership, organization, and collaboration, the IT Project Manager acts as a trusted partner to IT Infrastructure leadership—helping to improve service reliability, scalability, and performance while advancing the overall maturity of infrastructure delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business goals.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures.
Manage project execution, ensuring timely completion within scope, budget, and quality standards.
Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and executive stakeholders to define project requirements.
Facilitate regular status meetings and steering committee meetings, providing clear and concise project updates.
Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns proactively.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues to minimize impact on timelines and budgets.
Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues when necessary.
Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource utilization.
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to allocate resources effectively.
Work with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and vendor performance.
Apply appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) based on project needs.
Lead Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, retrospectives, sprint planning) when managing Agile projects.
Ensure project deliverables meet IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Conduct testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination.
Maintain project documentation, lessons learned, and post‑implementation reviews for future improvements.
Drive process optimization and best practices for IT project management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-7 years of experience managing IT projects, preferably in software development, infrastructure, or digital transformation.
Proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist (SA) for Agile environments preferred.
Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or similar).
Familiarity with IT governance, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical‑thinking abilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for project reporting and presentations.
Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and in‑office responsibilities as needed.
Experience managing vendors, contracts, and third‑party service providers for IT projects.
Must be able to work both remotely and on‑site as required, with a flexible schedule that includes in‑office presence based on business needs.
Experience with ERP systems such as Viewpoint Vista preferred.
Experience in the construction industry preferred.
