We’re partnering with a leading CNC machine tool manufacturer to hire a
Sales Engineer
focused on driving growth across Illinois. This is a hybrid technical-sales role suited to someone who understands machining processes and thrives in a consultative, customer-facing environment.
You’ll be responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and delivering tailored machining and automation solutions across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
Identify and win new business across target sectors
Grow existing accounts and increase share of wallet
Deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
Execute strategic territory and account plans
Technical Sales Support
Recommend CNC machines and automation solutions
Work with applications teams on turnkey solutions
Interpret technical drawings and machining requirements
Build relationships with engineers, production leaders, and executives
Act as a trusted advisor on process improvement
Manage full sales cycle from discovery to close
Quoting & Project Management
Produce accurate quotations and proposals
Coordinate internally on pricing, specs, and delivery
Maintain CRM pipeline and reporting
Track competitors, pricing, and market trends
Support trade shows and marketing initiatives
Requirements Experience
3–7+ years in CNC machine tool sales, applications, or machining
Strong track record of hitting/exceeding sales targets
Technical Knowledge
Ability to read engineering drawings
Exposure to automation (robotics, pallet systems) preferred
