*Position Requirements:*
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT/RVT) desirable.
* Previous on the job training when not a RVT.
* Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying records and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs; requires
* sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
* Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
* Techs with exotic animal handling and background are encouraged
*Patient Care & Nursing*
* Perform physical assessments (TPR, weight, history collection)
* Monitor hospitalized patients and update medical records
* Administer medications (IV, IM, SQ, oral) as prescribed
* Place IV catheters and maintain fluid therapy
* Provide wound care and bandaging
* Assist with euthanasia procedures and provide compassionate client support
*Anesthesia & Surgery Support*
* Prepare patients for surgery (pre-op labs, catheter placement, induction prep)
* Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia
* Monitor vitals (ECG, SpO2, ETCO2, BP, temperature)
* Maintain anesthesia records
* Assist in surgery (instrument handling, sterile technique)
* Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and packs
*Hospital & Team Support*
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
* Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are clean and stocked
* Assist with appointment flow and efficiency
* Support inventory management (track supplies, restock)
* Adhere to OSHA and safety protocols
*Client Communication & Education*
* Educate clients on medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
* Review preventative care (vaccines, parasite control, nutrition)
* Provide follow-up communication as directed by DVM
* Support exam room flow (history taking, documentation)
*Preferred (but not always required)*
* 1+ year GP experience
* Experience with dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
