Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a highly qualified candidate for software development support for Geospatial data and GIS applications, including both web-based and desktop-based GIS solutions, for a hybrid support developer position in the Stennis Space Center, MS metro area. The person that fills this role will design, develop, and maintain software applications that work with spatial data and GIS technologies. The Geospatial Applications Developer will work with various programming languages, software packages, and databases to create web-based and desktop-based GIS solutions.
Design and develop GIS applications, using Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Manage and maintain GIS data, including spatial databases and formats such as NetCDF, GRIB, GeoJSON, shapefiles, and GeoTIFF.
Support and maintain existing GIS applications and tools.
Identify and resolve issues with GIS applications and systems.
Integrate GIS technologies into existing systems and applications.
Qualifications What you will need:
2 years with a BS/BA; 0 years with an MS/MA; 6 years with no degree.
Proficient with C++, Python, Java, and MATLAB programming.
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar database systems.
Secret security clearance.
Must live in the local commuting area and will regularly work at the Navy Research Laboratory and Peraton facilities at Stennis Space Center, MS.
Salary Range $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
