As an Activities Coordinator, you will plan, organise, and lead a varied programme of meaningful and engaging activities that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents living with dementia. You will create inclusive, person-centred activities that reflect the preferences, interests, and capabilities of individuals, enhancing their quality of life and sense of purpose.
As part of your role, you will be required to:
Design and implement a daily and weekly schedule of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents with varying stages of dementia.
Develop individual activity plans based on residents' life histories, interests, and current abilities.
Encourage participation and ensure residents are meaningfully engaged, adapting activities to suit individual needs.
Work closely with care staff, family members, and other professionals to ensure continuity and support for residents' emotional and social needs.
Organise special events, celebrations, and outings, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all participants.
Support the development of dementia-friendly environments throughout the care setting.
Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control policies.

You will have specific Dementia Care qualifications or training and be able to provide an Empathetic, patient, and compassionate approach whilst being creative, enthusiastic and be able to motivate others to join in.
You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and have an understanding of person-centred care and dementia best practices.
