Surgery - General Physician

The general surgeon on call would take any call from the ED or any hospital general surgery consults. This position is hospital based but may include some after-hours call support for the clinic but that volume is minimal. They could be involved with the care of ICU patients. EMTALA is the hospital/emergency call schedule.

Coverage Details:

• 3-7 days/month starting around Christmas time (Provider must be able to offer Christmas coverage)

Job Details:

• Reason for Coverage : Add to coverage pool
• Practice Setting : Hospital based coverage only
• Schedule : 24 hour shifts for EMTALA call coverage (7am - 7am)
• Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day : 1-3 surgical cases for surgeon on call and 2-4 consults per day
• EMR : EPIC
• Number of Operating Rooms : 12
• Number of General Surgeons in Practice : 3
• Description of OR Staff : CSTs, RNFAs, First Assists available well rounded and seasoned OR staff
• Patient Age Demographic : Peds to Geriatrics, Peds could be at discretion of physician and peds is typically only appe, skin and soft tissue
• Robotics available for those certified

Credentialing timeframe: 90 days; emergency temp privs IF needed
