The Team and the Opportunity
As part of our Data Analytics and AI team, the Data Architect role is pivotal in enabling our clients to derive significant value from their information assets. Through collaboration and domain expertise, our team embeds innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas, transforming data into strategic assets. We are looking for a Data Architect who is passionate about leveraging data to solve complex problems and drive business outcomes.
You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and existing client relationships and delivering first‑class customer experience on high‑profile engagements.
Working across all industries, you’ll develop your career by communicating creative, strategic goals both internally and externally. As a senior manager, the opportunity to assess and improve our clients’ reporting policies and corporate governance processes will impact these ever‑challenging areas during transformational and regulatory changes.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor diverse project teams working across Microsoft Fabric, including data engineers, data architects, and Power BI developers, delivering end‑to‑end modern data platform solutions.
Own the Microsoft Fabric solution architecture for complex client projects—including lakehouse, data warehouse, data integration, and semantic model layers.
Design and implement Fabric‑based data artefacts using Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks in line with client needs and industry best practices.
Guide teams on best practices in Direct Lake mode, OneLake shortcuts, delta tables, and efficient data layer separation (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Implement Fabric‑native data governance leveraging Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, and workspace security to ensure compliance, privacy, and data protection across domains.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including cloud engineers, data scientists, Power Platform consultants, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust Microsoft Fabric‑based technical designs.
Conduct data architecture assessments for legacy or cloud‑based environments and develop Fabric‑based migration roadmaps, including data modelling, ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
Define and implement CI/CD processes for Fabric using Azure DevOps Git integration, including workspace branching strategies, pull requests, build and release pipelines.
Act as a trusted Microsoft Fabric SME and advisor to clients, providing architectural direction, governance standards, optimization techniques, and helping align Fabric deployments with strategic business goals.
Stay current with Microsoft Fabric product evolution, industry trends, and data architecture patterns, delivering thought leadership and enabling innovation in client engagements and internal capability building.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Third‑level qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or relevant experience related to the position.
Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture and engineering, including leading enterprise‑scale cloud data projects, with at least 2 years of consulting experience providing strategic guidance and hands‑on implementation while building trusted advisor relationships.
Proven expertise in designing and deploying solutions within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture, Power BI Direct Lake datasets, and OneLake storage strategies.
Solid understanding of data modelling techniques across transactional, analytical, and semantic layers; strong hands‑on experience using delta lake formats and Fabric Lakehouse/SQL endpoints.
Experience building and orchestrating Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2, including incremental loads, change data capture, and medallion architecture design.
Proficiency with SQL, PySpark, and notebooks within Fabric for data transformation and enrichment workflows.
Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Strong leadership and client‑facing communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage cross‑functional teams, and translate technical solutions into business value.
Ideally, you will also have
Experience working with multi‑tenant or multi‑domain Microsoft Fabric solutions, including cross‑workspace or cross‑company data sharing using OneLake external shortcuts and Azure B2B access.
Awareness of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and ability to design compliant data architectures within Microsoft Fabric.
Experience implementing data governance, data quality, and data lineage using Microsoft Purview, including managing metadata and sensitivity labels within Fabric.
