Position: Electrical Design Engineer
Employment Type: Full‑time
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
Salary Range: $97,700‑$130,000, based on experience
Career Level: Mid‑level
Locations: Long Beach, Irvine, San Diego, CA
General Responsibilities
Support pre‑design and design phases on small to medium‑sized projects, including commercial and institutional buildings and healthcare facilities.
Perform energy modeling using tools such as EnergyPro or IES VE.
Develop single‑line diagrams, load schedules, and lighting system designs and controls.
Engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
Conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System studies to ensure safe and efficient electrical infrastructure.
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification preferred.
LEED accreditation is a plus.
PE license is a plus.
Membership in professional engineering associations is a plus.
Experience Required
3–6 years of engineering design experience post‑graduation or equivalent professional experience.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of the California Building Code and the National Electrical Code.
Experience with Net Zero Energy/Carbon design is a plus.
Project management experience preferred.
Strong command of Microsoft Office, Newforma, and engineering software tools.
Experience in Power System Analysis (Arc Flash and Short Circuit Coordination).
Experience with ETAP or SKM.
HCAI experience (a plus).
