Technical Manager . Reporting to the Customer Experience Manager, the Technical Manager will drive aftersales customer satisfaction and operational excellence through their aftersales product experience. The TFM will operate within the Shared Services framework, working alongside existing aftersales experts. Join a dynamic Irish automotive distributor with responsibility for ten global brands, where technical expertise directly influences customer experience and dealer capability. This role offers broad brand exposure, OEM interaction, and genuine opportunity to shape national aftersales standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead resolution of complex, high-impact, or sensitive technical cases across the dealer network.
Act as primary liaison between dealers and manufacturer technical teams, including management of escalated technical tickets/reports.
Conduct dealer visits to support advanced diagnostics and strengthen workshop capability.
Engage directly in sensitive customer cases where required.
Identify recurring technical trends and drive root cause analysis and corrective action.
Provide technical direction and knowledge sharing across the dealer network and internal stakeholders.
Prepare clear, structured technical reports, summaries and analysis to support manufacturer, dealer, and customer decision-making.
Support the development and delivery of technical training.
Shape technical governance, escalation standards, and service level expectations.
Lead technical improvement initiatives and ensure sustainable embedding into operations.
Establish and oversee governance for special tools, diagnostic systems, technical tooling and software subscriptions, supporting network compliance, cost optimisation, and the planned centralisation of technical assets.
Influence and drive alignment between Technical and internal teams.
Represent the Company at brand and manufacturer engagements, technical forums, and industry events as required.
Maintain flexibility to support additional technical or strategic initiatives aligned to evolving business priorities.
Key Attributes:
5+ years' senior technical experience within a dealer or manufacturer environment.
Strong hands‑on diagnostic capability across modern vehicle systems.
Experience handling complex repair cases.
Confident operating in a field‑based and workshop‑facing role.
Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
5+ years' experience in automotive importation & distribution.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. xcfaprz
