The role
Lead Apto’s Environmental, Health & Safety strategy across all European hyperscale data‑centre construction projects.
Drive a strong, proactive safety culture through communications, behavioural programmes, and workforce engagement.
Govern EHS management systems aligned to ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001, ensuring full legislative and regulatory compliance.
Oversee all high‑risk activities (work at height, critical lifts, live energy, plant, confined space) and approve RAMS and permits.
Lead construction site safety operations including audits, inspections, hazard identification, competency assurance, and KPI‑based performance monitoring.
Direct incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and close‑out of corrective and preventative actions; manage emergency response planning.
Represent Apto to clients, regulators, contractors, and vendors; enforce contractor compliance and deliver clear EHS reporting.
Develop and manage campus‑wide EHS master plans.
Act as Apto’s senior EHS leader, influencing teams at all levels and embedding a consistent safety‑first culture across all projects and campuses.
Responsible for appointing and managing external EHS Consultants.
Basic Qualifications
8-15+ years’ EHS leadership experience in data centre, construction, industrial, or mission‑critical environments.
Strong capability in risk assessment, high‑risk activity management, and incident investigation.
Proven experience managing contractors, vendors, and large multidisciplinary project teams.
Deep knowledge of EHS systems aligned to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CSP, NEBOSH, IOSH PSDP/PSCS, CIH, or equivalent.
ISO Lead Auditor / Implementer qualifications.
Experience managing SIMOPS, large campus environments, or mission‑critical infrastructure.
Background in hyperscale data centre construction or heavy industrial sectors.
Location
Dublin. 40% travel across Europe.
