Reporting to the PAS Project Manager/Test Lead the PAS Tester will be working on the new Patient Administration System (PAS) Upgrade Project.
This is a temporary position that is fully onsite, based in Dublin 8.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee, this position is aligned to a salary scale beginning at €36,109.
This position also offers 28 days annual leave per year and paid bank holidays.
Purpose of the Role: The PAS Tester will play a critical frontline role in the testing and successful implementation of a new Patient Administration System (PAS) within the hospital.
The post holder will be responsible for: Supporting system testing and validation Delivering and providing hands-on go-live and stabilisation support This role is essential in ensuring the PAS system is safe, effective, user-friendly, and fully adopted across clinical and administrative services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: System Testing & Validation System Testing & Validation Work with third-party providers, analysts and workstream/customer support teams to ensure software solutions meet user expectations.
Review documented test cases.
Execute comprehensive testing against the software, ensuring all features function as designed and intended.
Perform root-cause analysis of defects to identify and mitigate project risks.
Communicate the results of software testing efforts to stakeholders and suggest areas of improvement.
Specific Tasks include: Participation in and support of: System testing Integration testing Data migration testing Data warehouse and report testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Creation and execution of test scripts and accurately document results.
Log system defects, workflow issues, and configuration problems.
Retest fixes and confirm resolution.
Validate patient pathways including: Outpatients Admissions Transfers & Discharges Waiting list management Emergency Department flows Clinical & Operational Engagement Work closely with: Admissions Outpatients Bed Management Emergency Department Wards & Theatres Go-Live & Stabilisation Support Provide on-site floor-walking support during go-live.
Respond to real-time PAS issues and user queries.
Escalate system incidents appropriately.
Support post go-live review and system optimisation.
Act as a key liaison between frontline users and the project team.
Governance, Clinical Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with: GDPR & Data Protection Patient confidentiality ICT & cybersecurity policies Participate in audits and quality assurance processes.
General Digital & Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate: Test documentation Training records Issue logs Support reporting to PAS Programme Governance Groups.
Maintain structured electronic records via Teams / SharePoint.
Academic/Professional Qualifications and/or relevant Experience Required: ISTQB foundation level 3+ years of experience as a software tester or software quality assurance specialist.
Understanding and experience of using SQL.
Proven aptitude for testing quality software on multiple platforms and knowledge of industry-standard operating procedures.
Desirable: Previous experience in a healthcare environment Project Management qualification (E.g., PMI) Technical/Clinical Competencies: Knowledge of computer architecture and tools for manual testing, integration testing, functional testing and bug-tracking systems, including non-automated spreadsheet-based systems.
Demonstrated of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the role of testing and quality within it.
Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical soundness, data analysis acumen and troubleshooting capabilities.
Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with: MS Teams SharePoint Excel Powerpoint Issue tracking tool Experience in: System testing Workflow validation Clinical system change Desirable: Experience delivering: ICT systems training PAS, EPR, or hospital system training Knowledge of hospital operational workflows. xcfaprz
