The role designs and refines database structures, indexing strategies, and capacity plans to deliver scalable, high-performing data services across multiple business applications. It leads complex maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, environment migrations, and recovery exercises while minimizing downtime and coordinating closely with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and review advanced security controls such as encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access models, privileged account management, and auditing to protect sensitive data in highly regulated environments.
Lead planning and execution of database software upgrades, patching cycles, and cross-environment migrations, coordinating with application owners and operations teams to manage risk and downtime.
Design and support data integration solutions using ETL tools and scripts to move, transform, and reconcile data across operational databases, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
Perform capacity planning and storage management, including growth forecasting, index maintenance strategies, and archival approaches to balance performance and cost.

Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required by the client.
U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-availability and resilience patterns such as clustering, always-on groups, replication, or other failover technologies in enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience supporting data warehousing and business intelligence workloads, including star schema design and ETL performance tuning.
Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
