They can be a Line Manager who will act as co-lead with the Team PO for overall delivery. You will support customers by ensuring the products we deliver are fit for purpose and meet the quality and standards expected.We're looking for someone who wants to further develop their engineering skillset. We’ll support you to be able to be able to take on technical challenges and develop your understanding of how data solutions and services are developed, tested and implemented. If this excites you then you would be an asset to our team!We are pioneering the transformation of current processes from our on-premises platforms and have started our journey in deploying solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. This role sits within our platforms Analytics Lab who are looking to create strategic data products and build data and analytics capability.We work using agile delivery practices, so a self-led individual capable of accurately estimating and planning their own work would be valued highly.What You’d Get Involved With:1. Data Platform Operations· Operate and support GCP-based data platforms, particularly BigQuery environments· Monitor platform performance, availability, and cost efficiency· Ensure high availability and resilience of data systems2. Pipeline Reliability & Support· Maintain and support ETL/ELT pipelines using Composer (Airflow) and dbt· Ensure data quality, completeness, and timeliness across pipelines· Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for pipeline failures3. Incident & Problem Management· Lead investigation and resolution of production data incidents· Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative fixes· Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems4. Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering· Manage infrastructure using Terraform on GCP· Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Harness· Work with Pub/Sub for event-driven data processing5. Data Governance & Compliance· Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal data governance policies· Implement data lineage, auditing, and access controls· Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams6. Collaboration & Leadership· Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices· Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams· Contribute to architectural decisions and platform enhancementsKey skills required:There is no requirement to have experience with every technology listed, and we would be happy to provide any development opportunities.Technical Skills· Strong SQL expertise and experience working with BigQuery· Hands-on experience with GCP services (BigQuery, Composer, Pub/Sub)· Proficiency in Python and/or Java· Experience with dbt for transformation workflows· Familiarity with scheduling tools such as TivoliDevOps & Infrastructure· Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Harness)· Infrastructure as Code using Terraform· Version control using GitOperational Expertise· Experience in data operations, production support, or SRE environments· Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills· Monitoring and alerting implementation experienceDomain Knowledge (Preferred)· Experience in financial services or regulated environments· Understanding of data governance, risk, and compliance frameworksDesirable skills include:· Strong focus on reliability, automation, and scalability· Experience operating mission-critical data platforms· Ability to bridge engineering and operational support· Proactive mindset toward improving systems and processes**About working with us**Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
