Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Daytime Hours (occasional off-hours support) We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a public safety technology initiative across the Austin area. This role will focus on coordinating the deployment and transition of emergency response vehicle systems, including upgrading from legacy Dell hardware to Panasonic Toughbook devices. This is a hands-on project role ideal for someone with a strong technical background in IT infrastructure, hardware deployments, and field-based support environments. What You’ll Do Lead and coordinate the deployment of IT equipment in emergency/public safety vehicles Manage project timelines, deliverables, and field execution across multiple locations in the Austin area Oversee hardware migration from legacy systems to Panasonic Toughbooks Work closely with vendors, internal IT teams, and field technicians to ensure smooth rollout Review and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) and ensure deliverables are met Track progress, risks, and issues, and provide regular project updates to stakeholders Support troubleshooting and escalation for hardware, connectivity, and deployment challenges Travel locally to various sites to support installations and project milestones Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in IT Project Management or Technical Project Coordination Strong background in IT hardware deployments, network support, or infrastructure projects Experience working with or managing SOWs and vendor deliverables Hands-on understanding of: End-user hardware (laptops, mobile devices, vehicle-mounted systems) Networking xywuqvp basics (connectivity, troubleshooting, configurations) Ability to work in a field-based environment with regular travel around Austin Strong communication and organizational skills Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting public safety, government, or first responder environments Familiarity with rugged/mobile computing devices (e.g., Toughbooks) Background in coordinating multi-site or mobile deployments Ability to manage both technical and operational aspects of a project
