Job Title: Enterprise Data Architect

Location: Frimley, all other BAE UK sites can be considered. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £115,000+ dependent on skills and experiences plus executive benefits

What you’ll be doing:

Developing, maintaining and communicating the Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy, together with the reference architecture and roadmaps for progression towards target state
Engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders to drive effective and coherent data-led operations across the company
Collaborating across Enterprise Architecture to ensure coherent strategy and delivery of solutions required to allow the business to meet its strategic and tactical goals
Managing the Head Office data architecture team and leading the data architecture community across the Company
Supporting data architecture implementation, assurance and compliance across the organisation, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders across the organisation
Authority and accountability for actions and decisions for data architecture, including technical and quality aspects
Collaborating with internal and external partners to facilitate effective evaluation of solutions to business needs, and working proactively and independently to articulating issues/challenges and supporting resolution

Your skills and experiences:

Essential skills:

Proven experience in data/information architecture or equivalent roles
Familiarity with industry-standard system integration and data modelling patterns, and frameworks such as ITIL, DAMA/DMBOK and TOGAF and familiarity with metadata management practices
Experience with cloud technologies, including multi-cloud and hybrid architectures
Experience of working in a multi-region highly regulated industry
Experience of leading through change, in a matrix/hub-and-spoke model, without direct line management control

Desirable skills:

Understanding of the defence landscape
Certified in appropriate ITIL, TOGAF and/or DAMA foundation and specialist knowledge areas (or equivalents)
Knowledge of working within a product-based delivery model
Relevant degree or equivalent experience (e.g. computer science, information systems, or a related study)

Our Data and Analytics Group leads on best practice use of data and builds strategic technical capability for BAE Systems.
