Manager of Embedded Development

The Electrical Systems Department is a dedicated group of engineers focused on advanced hardware-based solutions. In this role, you will not only manage a team of embedded software and FPGA developers but also actively contribute to projects for our internal and external clients. You will take charge of developing and nurturing your team to align with organizational objectives, emphasizing scalability and quality enhancement. As a technical leader, you'll engage in a diverse array of programs that develop electronic assemblies for aerospace and military systems, including both manned and unmanned ground and air vehicles, missiles, defensive radars, and space systems. Effective time management and prioritization will be crucial for achieving both project and organizational success.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong technical expertise and a proven record of leadership. Excellent communication skills and a passion for team development are a must as you tackle exciting technical problems.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide mentorship and technical oversight to enhance team member skills.
Foster strong working relationships with team members to achieve productivity and retention objectives.
Identify hiring needs, craft job postings, coordinate applicant screening, conduct interviews, and make hiring recommendations to scale the team.
Propose and implement strategies to enhance organizational quality, agility, and capability.
Contribute technical input to support organizational business development initiatives and proposals.
Complete necessary reporting, approvals, and administrative tasks, including weekly project status reports for senior management.
Provide technical insights to program leadership throughout the planning and execution of engineering projects.
Engage in the full project lifecycle to develop embedded systems utilizing FPGAs or SoCs from architecture to delivery.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related ABET-accredited field.
5+ years of experience in embedded system design and testing, covering architecture to implementation and hardware testing.
2+ years of experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams.
Strong background in technical problem solving and root cause analysis.
Ability to break down system-level requirements into lower design levels.
Proficient in programming and/or hardware description languages, including C, C++, VHDL, Verilog, and assembly.
Experience with communication protocols such as UART, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, PCIe, and CAN bus.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Capable of collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related ABET-accredited field.
Experience in personnel management, including hiring and staff development.
Experience leading technical teams using Agile Scrum methodologies.
Knowledge of process improvement initiatives and project management, covering cost and schedule oversight.
Involvement in business development activities, such as writing briefings, white papers, and proposals.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
