Mechanical Design Engineer

STEM Recruitment Partners is partnering with a leading medical device company in Dublin seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support their R&D operations. You will work on the development and upgrade of a software-controlled electromechanical medical device.

• Lead mechanical design projects for new and sustaining product initiatives
  
• Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, including single-use plastic components
  
• Plan and execute testing protocols (characterization, verification, validation) with full reporting
  
• Drive root cause analysis and deliver innovative engineering solutions
  
• Build and evaluate prototypes, ensuring performance meets specifications
  
• Conduct and lead technical reviews across development phases
  
• Ensure compliance with design control, risk management, and regulatory requirements
  
• Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
  

• 
  
• 3+ years' engineering experience (regulated environment preferred)
  
• Proven expertise across the full product development lifecycle (concept → validation)
  
• Strong SolidWorks proficiency (essential)
  
• Hands-on mechanical prototyping (rapid prototyping techniques)
  
• Experience with electro-mechanical devices; medical device background desirable but other regulated backgrounds may be suitable.
  
• FMEA experience (advantage)
  
• Strong problem-solving, independent task management, and effective communication skills
  
• Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation tools
