Applegreen is seeking to recruit a Project Manager who will lead the planning, execution and delivery of multiple projects in Ireland. As a senior member of the Group Developments Team, the candidate will significantly influence and progress the team in advancing its vision and capability. The role is part of a growing department that will spend in excess of €500m over the coming years on strategic capital projects. The successful candidate will bring their own initiative to deliver the department’s vision, aligned with the wider Applegreen Vision and Core Values, and to deliver best‑in‑class value and efficiency in capital development projects globally.


The role reports to the Construction Director and is primarily based in the Applegreen Head Office in Parkwest, Dublin, with requirements to travel to construction sites across Ireland. A full driver’s licence is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver construction projects safely to required quality standards while meeting programme and budget requirements.
  • Plan construction activities, manage multiple contractors and influence overall project flow and delivery.
  • Work closely with the in‑house design team as well as external design teams.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and demand high standards on all projects.
  • Manage site quality control during project execution to meet end‑user requirements.
  • Fully close out projects, complete snagging, ensure O&M manuals are completed, and achieve successful handover to operation.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure projects are delivered within the allocated budget.
  • Provide valuable input to the quantity surveyor during tender reviews, contractor appointments, package negotiations and selection of the preferred contractor/supplier.
  • Attend site meetings across the regions as the client representative.
  • Assist in discussions/negotiations with external consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Maximise the development value of the projects whilst maintaining high‑level quality design.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in engineering, construction management or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with responsibility for managing construction projects, site safety and quality, and multiple contractors.
