Job Summary:

This unique position will serve as the direct technical support for the Metrology function and in addition, support Procurement Quality.

SKF Aerospace is a first-tier supplier to the global aviation industry and much more. We design & manufacture complex, high performance, high-value bearings in steel and advanced ceramics. Our production group, technologies, & products are at the heart of aerospace industry and the world's leading aircraft jet engine & gearbox manufacturers at our Falconer, NY location.

Job Responsibilities: Providing technical support directly to metrology technicians Lead the investigating, purchasing and implementation of new measurement systems for manufacturing Author step by step setup and inspection procedures for newly introduced measurement technology Training on metrology systems for new hires Leading metrology related projects and to ensure a smooth hand-off with manufacturing Manage the calibration of various gages and associated calibration work instructions in accordance to industry standards including ISO 17025 Improving procurement quality through receiving inspection, supplier involvement and internal systems Will maintain the PQE function; initiate, review and follow-up on corrective actions to vendors conduct vendor audits and will work with vendors on Continuous Improvement activities Will support ISO Certification efforts and be active in registration and surveillance audits and resolution of purchasing related issues Job Education and Requirements:

Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering field and/or 3+ years hands on experience Strong communication skills (oral and written) Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint) Candidate must be able to work in a team-based environment
