We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to manage, maintain, and secure our network infrastructure. This role will focus on implementing and ensuring robust security practices, monitoring network performance, and troubleshooting issues related to our network systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize the reliability and security of our network environment.

Rate: $40 - $5 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain a Bastion host with MF8 security protocols and authorized credentials to manage network access to Ethernet and W1 switches.

Enforce and ensure security best practices by restricting unauthorized access to network devices, particularly preventing direct login attempts to the Ethernet and W1 switches using local credentials.

Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of IP routing, wireless access and infrastructure systems to quickly assess and resolve wireless service impairments

Provide articulate verbal and/or written impact assessments to management in English

Aggressively pursue high standard of network and system performance and availability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and resolve potential system, network and customer impacts in the maintenance window

Experience Requirements:

Minimum two (2) years Wireless systems work experience, Systems Admin, or Network Operations

Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network switches (e.g., E and W1 switches).

CCNA Certification is required

Proficiency using multiple, industry standard, operating system environments including Linux, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, JunOS, VMWare

Familiarity with the following equipment is a plus: Cisco UCS, Ruckus vSZ/SCG/ZD, Cisco WLC, Cisco Nexus/ASR, Nokia 7750, Netscout Infinistream

Extended availability after business hours or on-call, as required by the business, in an “on-call” posture

Scripting in Python/bash is a preferred skill

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
