Design Program Manager

Are you a passionate connector and problem solver? As a Design Program Manager (DPM), you'll play a crucial role in supporting product teams, enabling them to focus on designing, building, and shipping products. You'll enhance team communication, collaboration, and remove roadblocks, utilizing your organizational and interpersonal skills to keep teams on track. You'll also execute design initiatives to grow team culture, industry expertise, and team impact, working with cross-functional teams to establish effective ways of working together.

Responsibilities

Program Definition and Execution

Collaborate with research, product, design, and engineering teams to develop roadmaps and drive product decisions.

Understand the needs of product teams and influence product roadmaps and features.

Facilitate meetings to drive progress, establish clear next steps, and resolve blocks.

Proactively assess risks, raise flags, and resolve issues before they escalate.

Measure the impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Communication

Develop and maintain communication and education strategies for roadmaps, tools, and features.

Collaborate with creative, product management, engineering, product design, user research, and content strategy teams to ensure a smooth product development process.

Support the management team with effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and information distribution.

Establish communication structures to report updates, progress, and status to task forces or team leads.

Manage program communication and connect with partners in other offices or disciplines to provide support.

Relationships

Build impactful relationships and serve as a dependable point of contact across product design, research, and content strategy teams and cross-functional partners.

Establish and execute activities that build team culture, community, values, and trust, helping individuals tie their work back to the mission.

Requirements

Experience developing and executing communication strategies for programs across a complex organization.

Experience working with creative teams from concept to execution.

Experience working with product teams from roadmapping through delivery.

Experience working directly with product designers, UX researchers, content strategists, product managers, and engineers.

Minimum 8 years of experience as a digital producer, project manager, or program manager with a background in establishing programs, supporting cross-functional teams, and developing lasting relationships.

Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in an organized manner.

Success in a fast-paced environment requiring independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and proactive problem-solving.

Experience leading product strategy and communicating with data to drive change.

Experience working directly with engineering teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
