Our organization directs the commercial portfolio’s pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies.

As a Data Analyst in the Monetization and Business Planning team, you will act as a strategic partner to functional teams, responsible for improving operational efficiency by delivering insights and data models that impact how go-to-market decisions are made. You will become an integral part of how we scale Microsoft’s monetization strategy. You will develop your career, forge effective cross-functional relationships, take on progressively broader responsibilities, and establish yourself as a trusted strategic advisor. Responsibilities

You will conduct exploratory data analysis that will influence product pricing, launch and performance monitoring, in partnership with multiple functional teams.

You will identify and leverage appropriate sources of data and contribute to the development of recommendations. You’ll determine appropriate analytical techniques and critically evaluate assumptions.

You will share and simplify relevant findings and insights and ensure presented results are accessible and accurate. You’ll support and/or consult with other teams and identify relevant data-driven recommendations.

You will recommend efficiency improvements for core work and evaluate the viability of automated data collection and processing methods. You will understand linkages between analytical models and contribute to the review process—and, if the model is deemed deficient—seek to determine why.

You’ll work within and across teams to ensure alignment in data sources and processes and engage stakeholders to act on opportunities. You'll stay abreast of privacy requirements and ensure data have undergone appropriate reviews.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.

1+ year working across functions to define data requirements.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years experience in data analysis using SQL.

2+ years experience in scripting and data modelling in Python.

Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
