About Position We’re looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer with deep experience in banking and payments to join Payments & Liquidity Technology (GPLT), supporting the transformation of the high-value payments landscape as we modernize legacy wire platforms onto a new, event-driven, cloud-native architecture. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, service management, reliability and understanding the internal tooling ecosystem, the change management process, and the security requirements.

What You’ll Do
Embed Devops/SRE and production engineering principles into Payments Modernization from design through early life support
Define and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) covering resilience, scalability, observability, recovery, and operability
Drive replay, retry, and exception-handling validation for event-driven payment flows
Lead capacity and performance testing, including volume growth and peak event scenarios (e.g. FedNow, CHIPS, SWIFT)
Design and execute controlled failure testing (chaos engineering) to validate recovery patterns and blast radius
Drive continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives, including automation, resilience uplift, and technical debt reduction.
Expertise You’ll Bring
Minimum 10 years in DevOps or release automation roles within enterprise environments
Python scripting for build and release automation: file processing, YAML/JSON/XML parsing, subprocess orchestration, regex-based routing logic
CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance across one or more platforms: Jenkins (Groovy/Jenkins file), GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or Harness.
Ansible Tower or AWX: playbook development, Jinja2 templating, survey design, role-based workflows
JFrog Artifactory: artifact publishing, promotion workflows, environment-based folder structures
Git proficiency beyond basic usage: branching strategies, cherry-picking, merge conflict resolution, LFS management
Liquibase or equivalent database change management tooling (changelogs, changesets, context-based filtering)
Experience building automation intended for handoff to teams with limited CI/CD background
Preferred Qualifications
Financial services experience is preferred but the right kind matters.
