Senior Software Engineer

Zellor builds shoppable AI for ecommerce. Our products help merchants turn video and AI into better product discovery, stronger conversion, and clearer content performance.

We are a small remote team based mostly in Ireland, and we keep engineering intentionally lean. People here are expected to think clearly, own problems end to end, and ship.

You will work across core platform and AI product development, helping shape the systems that power Zellor's merchant experience. This includes backend APIs, merchant integrations, retrieval quality, and practical AI assisted engineering workflows.

You will work directly with the CTO and engineering team. There is no heavy management layer between engineering and product, so your judgment will matter.

• Build and maintain backend services.
• Design clear, durable API surfaces for merchant and platform integrations.
• Write and maintain lightweight specs, architecture decisions, and technical documentation.
• Review AI generated code with strong engineering judgment and production standards.
• Own work from design through deployment and iteration.

• 5+ years building backend systems in production.
• Strong TypeScript and Python skills.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including schema design, query performance, and indexing.
• Clear written communication across specs, pull requests, and technical decisions.
• Experience working in small teams with high ownership.

• Go experience or genuine interest in working with it.
• Shopify ecosystem experience, especially Admin API and webhook security.
• Experience with LLMs in production, prompt design, RAG, or retrieval pipelines.
• Experience with pgvector or vector similarity search.
• Strong security instincts during implementation and review.
