Description

oin the Edge Services team as a Senior DevOps Engineer, bringing advanced expertise in Linux systems and network infrastructure to architect, build, and optimize Apple services serving millions of users globally. In this role, you will lead efforts to design and maintain critical infrastructure components, including Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Domain Name Servers (DNS), and load balancing solutions, ensuring constant uptime and scalability. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of large-scale production systems, extensive experience in automation, and a shown ability to drive technical strategy. Leadership, collaboration, and good interpersonal skills are essential to guiding both multi-functional projects and mentoring junior team members.

Minimum Qualifications

Advanced expertise in provisioning, configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, etc.), and monitoring across internet-scale environments.

Leadership experience in automation and infrastructure projects, including tool development using programming languages (Python, Swift, Bash, Go).

Expertise with infrastructure and application monitoring (Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana).

Proactive troubleshooting of sophisticated systems.

Deep knowledge of web servers, proxies (NGINX, Apache Traffic Server), and network protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP).

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with experience working across distributed teams.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of shown experience in Linux systems administration and large-scale infrastructure operations.

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.

Experience leading large-scale Kubernetes deployments and infrastructure automation initiatives.

Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and virtualized network environments (VPCs, KVM, Libvirt, QEMU).

Ability to shape technical strategy, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and mentor peers and junior engineers.

A track record of delivering measurable improvements to infrastructure performance and reliability.
