Responsibilities

Region Manager for Laboratory Quality Assurance

Location: Central Region (Must live in AZ, NV, NE, IA, ND, MN)

Responsible for the overall quality management program for all clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories in the Central region. Directs all elements of the quality program to include ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory readiness across all laboratories in the region. Directs a team of quality coordinators and supports all laboratory directors and managers on establishing and adhering to quality standards.

Leading the charge in regulatory preparedness: Guiding our laboratories to meet all applicable standards and regulations, including coordinating and conducting mock inspections as needed.

Championing quality and safety: Collaborating with the System Lab Service Line to standardize quality and safety practices across the region, ensuring a consistent and exceptional experience for our patients.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

Empower our teams: Actively supervise and mentor QA coordinators in the market and facilities, fostering a culture of quality and safety excellence. Supports and equips laboratory directors and managers to accomplish quality management program expectations and standards.

Drive continuous improvement: Monitor and guide the enhancement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the region, collaborating with the System QA Manager on the Lab Dashboard to identify areas for growth.

Stay ahead of the curve: Maintain a deep understanding of all regulatory and accreditation standards for clinical and pathology laboratories, ensuring compliance across the region. You will work closely with the System Laboratory Compliance Officer to achieve this.

Ensure competency and training: Guarantee that all competency and training efforts meet CLIA standards, are meticulously documented, and are readily available for inspection.

Report and advocate: Provide quarterly updates to the System Laboratory Service Line on the quality, safety, and regulatory readiness levels of laboratories within the region.

Implement best practices: Lead the implementation of laboratory policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with national standards and regulatory agency guidelines.

Collaborate and contribute: Actively participate in the System Laboratory Quality Workgroup, sharing your expertise and contributing to the overall success of our laboratory services.

Demonstrate fiscal responsibility: Promote efficient utilization of laboratory testing, labor, and other resources, aligning with the role's responsibilities.

Contribute to the broader team: Participate in other national and divisional laboratory efforts as needed, supporting the advancement of laboratory services across CommonSpirit Health.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Ten (10) years of laboratory experience, including three-five (3-5) years of quality improvement experience.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.

Licensure and Certifications Required:

State License - Nevada CLS:NV or GS:NV.

MT or CLS or MLS certification required, ASCP or equivalent.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

Job duties require considerable knowledge of the specialized principles and practices related to laboratory technical skills in respective area.

Skilled in Google management suite of tools.

Extensive knowledge in state and federal regulations is needed to ensure ongoing compliance.
