Are you passionate about quality and precision? At Waukesha Bearings , we are on the lookout for a dedicated Goods Inwards Quality Inspector to help us maintain our high standards. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all incoming components and materials meet our rigorous specifications before they enter our inventory.
As a leader in designing and manufacturing hydrodynamic fluid film bearings and active magnetic bearing systems, we serve high-performing turbomachinery and rotating equipment across various industries, including oil & gas, power generation, marine, and industrial markets. What You Will Do:- Conduct First Article Inspections: Create detailed reports to ensure compliance.
- Perform First Off Checks: Focus on the goods inwards area.
- Maintain Inspection Records: Keep accurate records for future reference.
- Manage Goods Acceptance: Release or reject items based on quality standards.
- Verify Supplier Certifications: Ensure all documentation is retained appropriately.
- Quarantine Goods: Identify and manage non-compliant items.
- Calibrate Inspection Equipment: Ensure tools are always ready for use.
- Handle Customer Returns: Notify Quality Engineers as needed.
- Create MRR/CAR: Manage material review and corrective action processes.
- Participate in Tier II Meetings: Engage in discussions for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with Stores, Purchasing, Planning, and Manufacturing.
- Generate Certificates of Conformance: Ensure compliance with standards.
- Other Duties: Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Experience: Proven background in quality inspection within precision engineering or manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Competence in reading engineering drawings and understanding geometric tolerances.
- Metrology Proficiency: Skilled in using conventional gauges like micrometers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous nature.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication.
- MS Office Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Health and Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- SVQ3, HNC, or a time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- UT/PT (SNT or PCN) qualification.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Experience with problem-solving techniques.
- Familiarity with Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
