The Arizona Game and Fish Department manages fish and wildlife in Arizona and under the authority of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, creates and implements scientific methods and regulations to effectively manage fish and wildlife habitat via conservation, enforcement, hunting, fishing, watercraft and off-highway vehicle recreation, and shooting sports. Job Summary:

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is looking for an experienced, results oriented and passionate Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure Team. This position will assist with the maintenance and operation of our current cloud and on premise servers while also continuing the migration of our services to the cloud.

Job Duties:

-Monitoring of system health, performance, availability and the associated software/applications; both on premise and in the cloud -Ensuring data security, integrity and availability -Troubleshooting situations and developing solutions for resolution in a timely manner -Participating in the change management process and creates project plans and coordinates resources -Installation of security patches to all systems including hardware, software, and servers -Establishing and documenting hardware and software configurations for new systems and modifications to current systems -Working with system, database and network administrators to troubleshoot and escalate system issues -Researching new server technologies including hardware, software and cloud -Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

The candidate must have strong customer service skills, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams and across the organization. In addition, must have excellent problem solving skills and ability to resolve incidents efficiently and effectively, and ability to evaluate and test emerging technologies with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs.

Selective Preference(s):

The preferred experience for this position will have: -Experience operating within a public cloud environment, preferably AWS -Five or more years of experience as a Cloud Administrator, Systems Administrator or related field -The ability to assist with the migration of on premise services to the cloud -The necessary skills to install, administer, update/upgrade and maintain our Windows servers -Excellent problem solving skills and ability to resolve incidents efficiently and effectively -Strong customer service skills, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams and across the organization -The ability to evaluate and test emerging technologies with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs -Desire to learn new technologies -Windows Server Administration Certificate -Cloud Operations certification -AWS or Azure certification

Pre-Employment Requirements:

The candidate must have a bachelor's degree and three or more years of experience in systems administration (or equivalent experience).

Employment is also contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
