SQL Developer

Our client is a small Irish software company operating in the data security space. They develop products that help organisations manage, protect, and gain visibility into sensitive data. The company has a collaborative culture and is growing steadily.

The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, reliable data pipelines that support both product functionality and internal analytics. This is a hands-on role within a small engineering team, offering broad exposure across data, security, and software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integrations
• Develop and optimise data models and storage solutions
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance
• Apply secure data handling and access control practices
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing data workflows
• Support compliance with data protection and security requirements (e.g. GDPR)
• Maintain clear documentation of data processes and architecture

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience in a Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong SQL and database design skills
• Experience using Python or similar languages for data processing
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of data security and privacy xcfaprz principles
• Experience working with version control systems (Git)
• Comfortable working in a small, agile team

Desirable / Nice to Have

• Background in data security, privacy, or compliance-focused environments
• Experience with streaming or real-time data systems (e.g. Kafka)
• Familiarity with data warehouses and analytics platforms
• Knowledge of DevOps or infrastructure automation tools
