Your Role:

As an Operations Engineer, you'll be instrumental in the smooth functioning of royalty collection from implementers and distribution of royalties to patent rights owners. You'll be deeply involved in the operations of providing correct and timely royalty allocation across platforms. This will involve running business processes accurately and timely and specifying requirements for improvements and new functionality of business tools.


Key Responsibilities
Operational Process Execution

  • Execute operational processes and business workflows accurately and in a timely manner
  • Operate internal tools and systems used to support royalty collection and allocation processes
  • Maintain operational records and ensure data is processed correctly within operational systems

Data Validation and Quality Control

  • Perform cross-checks and validation of operational data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Identify discrepancies or anomalies in operational data and investigate underlying causes
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve operational issues and prevent recurrence

Process and Systems Improvement

  • Gather and analyze operational requirements from business teams
  • Formulate and document requirements for improvements to operational processes and tools
  • Support testing and validation of new functionality in operational systems

Stakeholder and Customer Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve operational questions or issues
  • Communicate with customers or partners to explain operational processes or resolve complex matters when needed

Education and Experience
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Financial Mathematics preferred

Experience

  • Experience working in business operations or operational process improvement environments is beneficial
  • Experience in the patent or licensing industry is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience working in a corporate environment is helpful but not essential

  • Ability to understand complex systems and operational workflows
  • High attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
  • Methodical and conscientious working style
  • Ability to detect errors, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies in data or processes
  • Ability to formulate requirements for process and tool improvements
  • Strong business awareness and practical problem-solving skills
  • Interest in learning new operational tools and specialist knowledge
