Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a
Network Engineer
to support edge networking operations within the Bureau of Infrastructure. This role involves hands-on support, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across agencies.
Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain
network infrastructure
(routers, switches, SD-WAN, wireless, cellular devices) Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve
network performance and connectivity issues Utilize
Cisco CLI
for network configuration and management Support
network deployments, upgrades, and change management activities Manage and resolve incidents using
ServiceNow ticketing system Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders for issue resolution Assist in evaluating and implementing
new networking technologies Maintain
network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards Ensure compliance with
security and enterprise network standards Provide support to remote IT teams and business units Required Skills & Experience
3-4 years of experience in Network Routing and Switching Strong hands-on experience with
enterprise networking technologies Experience with
Cisco networking and CLI Knowledge of
network monitoring and troubleshooting tools Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications
CCNA Certification (preferred) Experience with
SD-WAN technologies Experience working in
enterprise or government environments Key Competencies

Local candidates only (Greater Harrisburg / Central PA area) Position is primarily
onsite with potential partial telework Must pass
background check and CJIS clearance Ability to
lift equipment (up to 40-50 lbs)
and travel locally if needed Initial
Teams interview followed by possible onsite interview
