Position Summary
We are seeking a senior, solution-oriented DevOps/Cloud Engineer who can translate high-level requirements into scalable, production-ready AWS architectures, establish and enforce platform best practices, and lead the delivery of robust, high-quality solutions that elevate engineering standards across the organization. This role is not focused on managing tools or pipelines alone. The ideal candidate can own the full lifecycle of infrastructure solutioning, from initial design through implementation, with a focus on simplicity, reliability, and maintainability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Translate high-level requirements into working AWS infrastructure designs Independently design and implement public-facing web architectures and secure network topologies Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code Ensure systems are secure, observable, and cost-efficient Make practical tradeoff decisions between serverless vs EC2, managed vs custom Work closely with development and leadership to solution, not just execute Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering (10+ preferred), with a strong track record supporting production-grade, enterprise-scale environments Deep AWS expertise in production environments, including hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating core services such as: EC2, AMIs, and Auto Scaling Groups (ASGs) Application and Network Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), target groups, and health checks Route 53 DNS management and routing policies VPC architecture including subnets, NAT gateways, route tables, and VPC endpoints Security controls including Security Groups, NACLs, and AWS WAF Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation, including: Modular design and reusable component development Template parameterization and environment abstraction State management and environment provisioning strategies Implementation of tagging, configuration, and secrets management standards Strong CI/CD and source control experience, including: Git-based workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, merge strategies) GitLab (or GitHub) pipeline design and implementation (stages, runners, artifacts) Automated build, test, and deployment pipelines Deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling deployments Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end cloud solutions, spanning infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and application integration Strong automation and scripting capabilities, including: Development of automation using Python (including AWS Lambda) or similar languages Automating infrastructure provisioning, maintenance, and operational workflows Reducing manual overhead and improving system efficiency through scripting Experience with platform-level concerns, including: Secrets management, configuration management, and environment standardization Monitoring, logging, and observability (e.g., CloudWatch or similar tooling) Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues in production environments Preferred Qualifications
Integration experience (APIs, SaaS platforms) Strong cost vs performance awareness AWS Certified DevOps Professional and/or AWS Certified Solutions Professional certifications Ability to simplify over-engineered systems Enterprise environment experience Compensation & Benefits
