Overview

Gallagher is a global leader in insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services. Our Guildford office, located in the heart of the town centre, is on the lookout for a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Real Estate Underwriter to join our established and experienced team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with seasoned underwriters and provide exceptional services to our diverse clientele.

As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Real Estate Underwriters in servicing their clients and ensuring their insurance needs are met with precision and care.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Collaborative Partnership : Work closely with our Real Estate Underwriters to understand and deliver on the specific needs of our clients. Your ability to manage multiple deadlines will be key to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Quote Provision : Assist in carrying out various checks and updating the system, including documentation for new and renewal business. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • End-to-End Underwriting : Support Underwriters in comprehensive underwriting activities, including fact-finding, risk assessments, and providing tailored quotes. Your analytical skills will be essential.
  • Daily Assistance : Handle daily queries, confirm coverage with insurers, process policies, and follow up on outstanding documentation. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth operations.
  • Account Management : Manage account-related queries and credit control matters, promptly addressing concerns and escalating issues when necessary. Your organizational skills will help maintain client satisfaction.
About You
  • Experience with Property Owners/Real Estate insurance products in a broking, insurer, or MGA environment.
  • Working towards or holding a Chartered Insurance Institute Qualification (Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII) is a plus. GCSE standard or equivalent education with intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is crucial, along with a track record of meeting targets within a regulated framework.
  • Customer-centric and risk-aware, focused on achieving the best outcomes for clients.
  • Detail-oriented, task-focused, and proactive in assisting team members.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with strong planning and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
