We are actively recruiting for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. Operating various types of forklifts, you will ensure that inventory is transported accurately, loaded and unloaded from trucks, and stored properly. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to strictly adhere to established protocols and utilize all necessary PPE. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced forklift operators looking to advance their careers in the logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Stack and organize materials in a safe and orderly manner.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as directed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to safety and proper equipment operation.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
