Job Summary:
Are you a highly organized and analytical individual passionate about warehouse accuracy? Our logistics facility in Tampa, Florida, is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and manage our inventory systems. This critical role ensures the integrity of our stock levels, minimizes discrepancies, and optimizes warehouse efficiency. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating variances, implementing process improvements, and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, including the diligent use of PPE. This position is key to maintaining smooth logistics operations and achieving operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and ensure product shelf-life compliance.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, and shipping processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and movement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE in all warehouse areas.
  • Train and guide warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficient inventory management.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar logistics role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent understanding of inventory control principles and techniques.
  • Ability to perform physical checks of inventory, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
