We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including operating forklifts (if certified), moving goods, and maintaining an organized workspace. A strong commitment to safety protocols and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other conveyances.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (certification required).
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Scan and record inventory items.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety and material handling.
- Adhere to all required PPE guidelines at all times.
- Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus.
- Understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Must wear provided PPE, including safety shoes and vest.
